Dry Skin
Dry skin is a common problem. The skin loses moisture and may crack and peel, or become irritated and inflamed. Bathing too frequently, especially with harsh soaps, may contribute to dry skin. It happens more often in the winter when cold air outside and heated air inside cause low humidity. Forced-air furnaces make skin even drier.
Dealing with dry skin is not as difficult as you might think. Dry skin needs moisture but it also needs the right kinds of moisture. Your skin needs moisture to stay smooth and supple, and retaining moisture becomes difficult as we age. A common mistake is to slather the skin with a greasy moisturizer which then causes other problems such as acne breakouts.
